Who looks for an AdsPower alternative, and why
AdsPower covers a lot of ground. It has a free plan with 2 profiles that doesn't expire, a 7-day trial of all features, apps for Windows, macOS and Linux plus an iPhone app, and both a Chrome-based and a Firefox-based browser kernel. Its homepage says passwords and cookies are encrypted and stored locally. If that setup works for you, there may be no reason to move.
People who compare it with Multime usually have one of three goals:
- A flat price with team seats included. AdsPower's help center says each member is a paid add-on at $5 per member. Multime's Team and Agency plans include a fixed number of VA (virtual assistant) seats.
- Team access that runs from the owner's own computer. In Multime, the owner's machine hosts the workspace and VAs connect to it directly. There is no Multime server in between.
- A large profile count for a small monthly price. Multime's Solo plan is $19 a month for 100 profiles.
Multime helps you keep client and business accounts separate and organized. It doesn't change any platform's rules, and it doesn't promise that an account won't be restricted.

Where Multime is different
VA seats are part of the plan
Multime's Team plan costs $49 a month and includes 300 profiles and 5 VA seats. Agency costs $129 a month and includes 1,000 profiles and 20 VA seats. Yearly billing gives you two months free. You don't add a charge per person until you outgrow the plan.
Your computer hosts the workspace
The owner's computer runs an encrypted HTTPS server for the team. VAs reach it over the local network or a private network such as Tailscale. The owner creates each VA account and chooses which groups, profiles and actions that VA may use. An owner dashboard shows who is online, which profile each VA has open and an activity log of every action.
A profile can be open by one person at a time. When a VA closes it, the cookies and chosen browser data go back to the owner's computer. The owner keeps a private workspace that VAs never see and can sign VAs out or lock their accounts. One honest limit: while a VA has a profile open, the VA's computer holds that profile's session. The teams page explains the setup.
100 profiles for $19 a month
On the Solo plan, 100 profiles cost $19 a month, about 19 cents per profile, or $190 a year. Solo can be activated on 2 computers. If you run 5 profiles or fewer, the free plan covers you with no card.
An open-source engine
Every Multime profile runs on fingerprint-chromium, an open-source Chromium build with fingerprint patches under the BSD-3 license. You download engines inside the app (Settings, then Kernels), and each download is checked against a SHA-256 checksum.
A Local API that accepts AdsPower-style calls
Multime's Local API runs on your computer on port 50325 by default, with an API key required by default. It accepts AdsPower-style requests for opening and closing profiles (/api/v1/browser/start and /api/v1/browser/stop), checking whether a profile is open, listing, creating, updating, deleting and regrouping profiles, and listing, creating and updating groups. Opening a profile returns the DevTools endpoint for Puppeteer, Playwright or Selenium. Not every AdsPower endpoint has a Multime counterpart, so run your scripts against a test profile before you switch. The local API reference lists every supported endpoint. See automation for the no-code RPA editor as well.
Where AdsPower is the stronger choice
- Linux and Intel Macs. AdsPower has a Linux build and an Intel Mac build. Multime runs only on Apple Silicon Macs and 64-bit Windows.
- Mobile. AdsPower has an iPhone app and lists iOS and Android fingerprints. Multime has no Android or iOS profiles.
- A Firefox-based kernel. AdsPower offers one. Multime profiles all run on Chromium.
- Sync across computers. AdsPower's paid plans list profile data sync across computers. Multime has no cloud sync; other people reach your profiles through the workspace your computer hosts.
- Masking coverage. Multime always shows the real screen size and doesn't mask media devices, speech voices or custom font lists. On the Windows engine (Chrome 150), canvas masking is switched off automatically because that build breaks text measuring when it's on. If your work depends on those values, check how each tool handles them.
How to move from AdsPower to Multime
- Start on the free plan. Download Multime, create a few profiles and test your proxies and websites before moving anything else.
- Bring proxies over in bulk. Multime takes HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5 and SSH proxies with username and password. Paste your list into the bulk import, save it, and assign proxies per profile or pick "random saved proxy".
- Create profiles in bulk. Use bulk create, or import a spreadsheet, then sort them into groups and tags.
- Import cookies. Multime reads JSON cookie files, including the JSON that AdsPower exports, plus Netscape cookies.txt and name=value text. You can merge imported cookies with the ones a profile already has. Cookies are saved each time a profile closes.
- Add saved logins. Each profile can store platform, username, password and 2FA secret, encrypted, with live 2FA codes.
- Point your scripts at the Local API and test them on one profile first.
Fingerprints don't transfer one to one. Each Multime profile gets its own seed, which keeps its masked values the same every time it opens and different from every other profile.
Who should stay with AdsPower
Stay with AdsPower if you need Linux, Intel Macs, an iPhone app or a Firefox-based kernel, or if you want the profile data sync across computers that AdsPower's paid plans list. If 2 free profiles are enough for you, AdsPower's free plan also never expires.
